Artist Interview – MINUS

We meet MINUS, as part of our ‘Kao Na’ artist interview series.

9 is a lucky number in Thailand. 9 also means forward stepping or progress. Kao Na or 9 forward.

1.) First things first, what is your favourite Thai meal?
Rice Noodles with Fish Curry Sauce

2.) Tell us more about you.
Hi! I am MINUS. You can also call me Nutt. I am one of those people who is very passionate about music. I love listening to many genres of music. However, my favourite genres are Classical Music, Alternative Rock, and Electronic Music. Music is part of my life. I can’t live without it! Hahah!

3.) How did you start DJing?
It all started a private party with friends. That was the first time I had heard or listened to Electronic Music. I had seen a DJ on Youtube and thought he was very cool. So, I wanted to play like him. I decided to buy a small DJ controller to practice with. In addition, I started to learn to produce at the same time. 

4.) What genres do you play?
Progressive House, Melodic Techno & House, Techno, Tech House, and Organic House.

5.) Who or what are your music influences?
Hans Zimmer, is a talented and creative music producer who has had a big influence on me. He can do a combination of classical music and electronic music in one song. I think he is the best.

6.) Favourite place to party in Thailand?
Everywhere! 

7.) Are you making your own music?/Do you have any tracks out?
I have only ever made a short Trap song for my friend. But now, I am learning how to make Techno music. I want to make Techno tracks with dark orchestral sounds. 

8.) What is your all-time favourite track?

9.) Finally, what are your thoughts on the launch of ozonebeach.club?
This is the best community out there for you to share your music styles, your sets, and your ideas. I think it will be the change we need to help promote the DJs and underground music within Thailand to the world.
